Comino and the Blue Lagoon

Comino and the Blue Lagoon

What to do while in Malta? Looking for Comino ferries or Blue lagoon ferries to spend a relaxing day on the only white sandy beach on the island of Malta? Well, you have a wide selection of boat tours to choose from.

How to get to Comino and the Blue Lagoon?

From Cirkewwa you have the Comino ferries that ferry you over to the island of Comino for 10euro. These are frequent and fast, but on the down side they just drop you off in the Blue Lagoon with no shade, shelter or retreat. As many say, the Blue lagoon is amazing but overcrowded. The beach is too tiny to find a place and with deckchairs opened up all over the beach it will cost you 15euro for 1 deckchair and an umbrella.

Boat tours:

In Malta you have ample choice when wanting to do a boat tour. However, TripAdvisor's number 1 tour is HORNBLOWER CRUISES. Departing from the Bugibba Jetty it is the best boat tour to do in Malta because it has everything you need for a day out at sea :-)

It is a full day tour from 10.30 to 17.30 cruising the north coast a lot of major sites are pointed out by the captain and live commentary explaining the history and facts. The tour goes around the north part of Comino island going in caves along the way until it arrives to the Blue Lagoon. One of the first cruise boats to arrive give you the opportunity to see the Blue Lagoon before all the crowds start to arrive. Crowds are inevitable in the Blue Lagoon (whichever time of the year you go) so they have limited capacity by half and redone the boat to make it as comfortable as possible.

The boat is well equipped with shaded area, sun deck, slide, air conditioned bar, lockers and snorkeling facilities.

There is no other way to go.  Choose Hornblower and you will not be disappointed :-)
